West Park Powder Room

We took this bold powder room from the tropical state of Florida, full of palm trees and flamingos literally splattered all over the walls to a little modern farmhouse; where new meets old, offering plenty of charm and definitely no shortage of personality.

The first thing we did in this bathroom was replace the wallpaper with 8″ shiplap, which immediately added character and texture to this room.

The custom floating wood vanity is by far my favorite item in this powder room and definitely a show stopper. It was no doubt a labor of love. A significant amount of time and effort was put into creating it and making it absolutely perfect for the space; from selecting the right pieces of reclaimed wood; getting it to the right size and texture; and mounting it so that it was well secured due to the lack of support on the right side of the vanity.  I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out, and love that we were able to restore and reuse the heart pine wood from The Bellevue-Biltmore Resort, a historic Florida hotel built in 1897, now how cool is that?!?! This powder room once had the map of Florida on its wall, with palm trees and flamingo but now it actually has a bit of Florida’s history built into it.
