Just like that, we’re approaching the end of October and next thing you know, the holidays are here. Getting in the holiday spirit by lighting candles with different fragrances that fill the room with the most beautiful aroma is one of my favorite things to do. It really sets the festive tone for the home. So in preparation for these festive months, I always stock up on my favorite holiday candles. I have a few favorites from last year’s Yankee Candle Holiday Collection such as the Tree Farm Festival Candle. and Movie Night Cocoa. This year, I am loving Red Apple Wreath and Balsam & Cedar candle from their Studio Collection.
Whether you are celebrating the holidays with large gatherings, or in a small group of family/friends or simply just want to bring on the holiday cheer at home, here are a few simple ways you can get into the holiday spirit.
I like to add holiday touches to our home beyond the Christmas tree such as my front porch or my coffee table as shown here. Adding candles to your home for a warm glow can instantly make your space feel cozy during these cooler months plus the holiday fragrance definitely gets you into the holiday spirit.
A Holiday hot cup of cocoa made from scratch with milk and chocolate is a tradition in our family. I love making it with the kids, while playing holiday music in the background. It’s so fun and simple to do and the kids love adding their own toppings such as whip cream, marshmallows, chocolate shavings and/or candy cane. One of the reasons I love the Movie Night Cocoa candle is because the fragrance reminds me of this holiday tradition that is so special to me.
A fun charcuterie board is necessary for all special occasions. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve seen various versions of a charcuterie board that I have created and shared over the years. What do you think of this Thanksgiving one I created? Doesn’t it immediately make you feel like you’re ready for the holidays.
Here are few other fun Holiday charcuterie boards I have created in the past.
The holidays can definitely feel stressful but I hope these few simple ideas can help you get into the holiday spirit without feeling overwhelmed. Lighting a candle often helps me with relaxation so I usually always have a candle lit while I’m getting our home ready for the holidays.
